Its commitment is to conduct its business in a manner that provides a safe and healthy workplace and environment for its Representatives.
In order to comply with its fundamental policy and to demonstrate its corporate commitment, the Company shall:
Comply with local, regional and national requirements as a minimum and go beyond those requirements as needed to comply with its fundamental policy
Assess the health, safety and environmental effects of its activities and integrate those considerations into its planning, design and operational decisions
Design, develop and operate its facilities with a view to (a) reduce the impact of its operations, (b) provide efficient use of energy, water and other resources, (c) limit waste generation and disposal, and (d) dispose of wastes responsibly
Progressively rehabilitate areas no longer required to support its operations using sound practical methods
Strive for continuous improvement in its health, safety and environmental programs and implement systems to monitor and audit its performance
Communicate with its Representatives, the community, regulators and other stakeholders regarding health, safety and environmental issues
Work with the community, as well as local, regional and national governments, in the formulation of health, safety and environmental regulations and policies that affect the Company
Advise and train its Representatives, contractors and the local community as necessary to promote its health, safety and environmental undertakings and;
Establish accountability of Representatives, and especially managers, for their health, safety and environmental performance.
