Overview
African Aura Resources has established a 70% owned subsidiary, Ridgeway Energy Ltd ("Ridgeway"), to undertake uranium exploration in Africa. Ridgeway will initially focus on Cameroon, where it has been granted two licences totalling 1,473km2 that include historically recorded uranium occurrences.
Targets Both licences target uranium occurrences mapped by the BRGM (Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières) and also include a BRGM mapped iron ore target at Essong and several BRGM mapped diamond occurrences. The Essong target is located 120km west of the 800Mt Mbalam iron ore project being developed by ASX listed Sundance Resources Ltd. The Bantadje licence in the Northern Province targets two BRGM mapped occurrences of primary granite-hosted uranium as well as secondary sediment-hosted deposits. The licence is contiguous with African Aura's 500km2 Tchollire licence; and borders the Kitongo licence of TSX-V listed N U Energy Uranium Corporation. The Essong licence in the Southern Province targets six BRGM mapped occurrences of alkali intrusive-associated uranium in the Congo craton as well as secondary deposits and is contiguous with African Aura's Djoum (998km2) and Akonolinga (997km2) licences.
